I put this in General Discussion because it's a discussion about movies and not specifically about Infinity the game itself.
To understand what an Infinity game is supposed to represent, the following movies would be extremely helpful to watch.
Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex.
There are two television series and a straight to DVD movie. Everything from hacking to armored exoskeletons to thermoptical camouflage can be found in this series. Virtually all of the ideas used in Infinity came from this series so it easily gives the best idea of what the game is trying to simulate.

This is the original movie based on the comic book by Masamune Shirow. It was the first appearance of this comic in movie or television form, but like a lot of Shirow's ideas, it tries too hard to have deep meaning and simply devolves into a beautifully crafted anime. The original is far better than the 2.0 as the switch from traditional animation to 3D animations is quite jarring. The television series is better for getting an idea of what Infinity is all about because it has so many more examples of these elements than the original movie.

These movies are truly awesome and are more action packed than the heady Ghost in the Shell offerings. More about robotic exoskeletons than any of the other ideas presented in Infinity, it still has many of the other elements. Skip the OAV from the 1980's unless you're a mega hardcore Appleseed monkey like I am.
