Good artical Tim. Growing up playing a lot of poker helps me understand the odds and precentages a bit in this game, as the fate deck is basically the same 52 card deck that most people are used to, with two jokers/wild cards included. I can tell you in draw poker the odds of drawing a card for an inside straight are 12-1. And for an opended straight 5-1 signifently better. So thinking in poker terms seems to work for me. What I found very interesting was the concept of cheeting fate to get myself a negitive flip, to recieve more cards, and the chance of getting the red joker!! Not that you would do this on an every game/ flip bases, but in an emergency where its a life or death situation it seems to be a very good stragity. I don't think doing that would have crossed my my for quit some time, and manny games before reliseing this move.
