Going by the tried and true "Ooh, shiny!" method of choosing models and too much authority in determining what gets brought into the store for my own good, I've gotten a handful of Haqqislam models...

3 Ghulam infantry with Rifles & Light Shotguns
1 Ghulam Hacker
1 Najjarun Engineer
1 Ghulam w/HMG
1 Ghulam Doctor
1 Ghulam w/Panzerfaust
1 Azra'il w/Panzerfaust
1 Azra'il w/Feuerbach

...now what? (Army Infinity says I've got no Lieutenant (which, for now, could be one of the Ghulams), and I can only use one Azra'il, which puts me at about 180)

Hmm...

You could go a couple ways with this. The engineer really throws the list for a loop. I came up with this list for you which is Qapu Khalpi, a sectorial list. Sectorial lists are special lists which allow for the use of linked troops. A group of linked troops can be up to five models. They can all move using one order, and they get bonuses depending on the number of models. At five models they have +3 BS, +1 burst to all of their weapons (which means they get 2 shots in ARO), and they are harder to sneak up on because they get sixth sense.

In this list, I'd link five Ghulam leaving out the doctor. I added four models to the list, a Bashi Bazouk in a second group because he's irregular and doesn't add orders to the pool anyway. I also added to Nasmat remotes one for your doctor and one for your engineer. Nasmats can use an order instead of a doctor or engineer, keeping the actual model out of harm's way and only risking the remote. Lastly I added a Djanbazan Lieutenant because they have a visor which lets them see through camo and they can regenerate when knocked down to 0 wounds. I also happen to love the Djanbazan model.

Something you may want to consider is going to 300 points eventually. Tournaments are 250, but when we play at the store, we're usually at 300 points. 300 points seems to be a golden zone where you can have lots of toys but it doesn't get crazy. At 400 points (my personal favorite) you can get super crazy and it makes for very crazy games.

This list is 250 points.

Here is the Army Infinity code which you can enter into the army builder and bring the list up for yourself for editing.

Here is the list itself. Feel free to ask more questions...

Hey Joe,

Just make some smaller lists with what you have. We'll match whatever you can bring: 150, 180, 200 points. Proxies for now are fine and it is what we do before actually buying the models to try them out.

In contrary to what Jeremy is suggesting, I would say to stay away from multiple combat groups until you get a lot more experienced. I've tried them and they haven't worked out so well.

Some list building rules:
Points: Everyone should understand points since it is the same for most other games.
SWC (Support Weapon Costs): For every 50 points allowed in the list you get 1 SWC. So if you are playing 250 points and you have 248 points of troops, you would be allowed 5 SWC (250/50).
AVA (Availability): This is the max number of guys you can have in your list of that particular group.
Combat Group: A combat group is limited to 10 models that generate an order regardless of the type of order (irregular, regular, impetuous).
Lieutenants: Each list must have one and only one lieutenant regardless of how many combat groups you have.
Remotes: To field remotes you must have at least one hacker or TAG somewhere in your army. The exceptions are Servant Remotes, with which you must have at least one doctor or engineer, and Synchronized Remotes, which are always listed as being paired with another model, as long as the other model is not also a remote.
