House Rules
In the spirit of good sportsmanship, Illegal Procedures will not be called -- please simply bring the issue to your opponent's attention and ask that he/she move their marker. Also, the 4-minute turn rule will not be enforced.

Tournament style
Starting rosters should be built to our standard $1.1 million, prior to selection of skill packs. Slann, Underworld and Chaos Pact are welcome, while Ogres, Halflings, Goblins, and Vampires will require special permission.

Tournament will be a resurrection style tournament. So any injuries your team suffers will not carry over to the next game, and any SPPs they earn will also be erased. The roster you start the tournament with will be the same for each round you play.

Additional Skills
Players will not gain skills with SPPs. Before the tournament begins, you will choose one of the Skill packages and assign skills to your players. These will be the only additional skills your team will have for the tournament. Please make a note on your roster as to what package you choose. No player may be given more then one additional skill or upgrade (except where specifically noted).

NOTE: With any given skill package, you may not give the same skill to more than two players of the same position. (For example, you may have two Longbeards with Guard and two Blitzers with Guard, but you may not have three Longbeards with Guard.)

Package A: 6 normal skill rolls
You may give 6 different players on your team one skill they could normally obtain on a regular nondoubles skill roll.

Package B: 4 normal skills plus 1 "10" roll (+MV/+AV)
You may treat one player on your team as if they rolled a 10 on their skill roll (+MV/+AV), as well as giving 4 other players skills they could obtain on a normal roll.

Package C: 4 normal skills plus 1 doubles
You may give 1 player on your team a skill they could obtain on a doubles roll, as well as giving 4 other players skills they could obtain on normal skill rolls.

Package D: 2 normal skills plus 2 doubles
You may give 2 players on your team a skill they could obtain on a doubles roll, as well as giving 2 other players skills they could obtain on normal skill rolls.

Package E: 2 normal skills plus 1 set of normal/doubles
You may give a single player two skills, one they could obtain on a normal skill roll plus one from a doubles roll, as well as giving 2 other players skills they could obtain on normal skill rolls.

Package F: 2 sets of normal/doubles
You may give two skills apiece to each of two players -- both will receive one skill they could obtain on a normal skill roll plus one from a doubles roll.

Miniatures
You may use any models you wish, provided that they provide a reasonable representation of your team. If your team is too confusing, or cannot be explained in a few minutes, then it can’t be used. If in doubt, ask. As a simple rule, if Gil walks by and asks “Whats that?” and you can’t answer immediately, it’s not allowed.

The only concrete rule we have is that all models must be clearly numbered. Painted and based models are preferred, but not required.

Dice
Community dice should be used. This means both players use the same set of block dice, scatter dice, etc. This just solves problems before they begin.

Scoring
Win......8
Tie......5
Loss…..2
BONUS: Dead and Injured box differential is added to score

NOTE: Any and all pitch removals count for the differential. This includes, but is not limited to, fouls, chainsaws, crowd surfing, failed GFI’s, land mines, bombs, thrown rocks, failed dodge rolls, and ejections for fouling. Make sure your foul is worth it, or you might give your opponent a point…

Schedule
This will be a 4 round tournament, with a final being played in week 5. Games will be every Thursday. If you miss a week, then you get 0 pts.
Week 1 10/14
Week 2 10/21
Week 3 10/28
Week 4 11/4
Final 11/11

Matchups will be determined that day, using the Swiss system, along with available players. If you’ve already played your opponent during the tournament, we will adjust the schedule accordingly.

The two teams with the most points at the end of week 4 will play each other in a final.

Questions?
Ask them in this thread.

Players signed up so far
Dan, Craig, Pat, Joe D

Just a few notes...

Craig - You've got 30k to play with. That will let you buy cheerleaders, coaches, or fan factor (or any combination thereof). I recommend you use that.

Pat - Everything looks good. Except for the oomlats... Seriously, looks solid to me. Love me some mighty blow.

I was half tempted to give my runners block to give them the mathematical boost in any hit situation but I decided crushing skulls may be better for my points as a whole and decided to roll with Mighty blow on them Blitzers. Back to the PC game to keep my skills sharpening.

And then resign to the fact that the dice will revolt when we play...GOTTA LOVE THIS GAME!

The key is that if someone hits your runner, you've already made a mistake. You have so much tackle and block on your team, nobody should ever get within three squares of your runners (unless you are crowd surfing them, and they are just passing by...)

That's the same thought that went through my mind when I decided to stick with the MB on my Blitzers. They shouldn't get hit and that's a simple fact.

Hm. Yankees play at 8.

If anyone else will not show up, match me with them, I'd rather set up a time where I'm not missing a playoff game if possible.

Regards,
-Sorin

No dice Sorin. Strip Ball is a general skill, Gobbos only get Agility as a single skill.
