Really like that Griffon... the non-griffon altars look pretty bad. It might be the paint job and the angle of the photo, however...

I do like the knights. First empire knights they've ever made that I didn't think looked stupid. All in all Empire gets a nice visual upgrade...

I think every single model in this release is over the top awesome.

I'm sorry, since 8th ed, GW has upped the ante on models, sculpts and kits. The shit they are putting out defies logic. I haven't seen anyone even come close in the past 12 months.

That Luminark kit is so full of bits I may but it just to plunder stuff.

I'm absolutely stunned.

I do agree, the kits look sweet. GW does what it does better than any other miniatures company (IMO) and that's presentation. They make everything look so great and desirable, even for players who don't play set army. Their plastics have surpassed imagination, seriously. I'm not high on GW either, Jeremy, but there is no reason to hate just for the sake of hating. The Empire and VC stuff makes me want to spend my money on things besides Malifaux...but I know it would only be a matter of time until my Terrorgheist goes flying into the face of an unsuspecting TCG player!!

Who's hating just to hate? I like most of this stuff, I didn't post it on the BG forums to jeer at it. Really the only things I didn't like were the alternate altars that didn't have the golden griffon on them. They look kind of stupid and busy. The rest of the stuff is pretty awesome. It's not awesome enough to make me play Empire, but it's good stuff. If I didn't already have 40+ Chaos Knights collecting dust on my shelf, I would probably get them and chaos them up for my army.

I think the best part of this new release will be the knights. GW has never, ever done Empire knights that didn't look awful. They've always been static, stunted, lacked detail, and were all feathers and no armor. These will look pretty amazing. Here's to hoping the army book will make knights more useful than most cavalry is in the game now.

Also if this is how they're going to do the Empire knights, I think Bretonnian players have a lot to look forward to when they get an update.
